한국, 천신만고 끝에 9회 연속 월드컵 본선 진출
South Korea are through the 2018 World Cup, though not in the most exciting or triumphant fashion.
Team Korea sealed their place in Russia next year with a scoreless draw against Uzbekistan, though they had to wait a few minutes to celebrate… because the World Cup spot also depended on the outcome of another match.

It wasn’t edge of the seat viewing,… but the job is done.
South Korea’s national football team has booked their ticket to the 2018 World Cup,… following a draw with Uzbekistan on Tuesday night.
Despite a number of chances,… including forward Lee Dong-gook’s header that hit the crossbar,… the match finished nil-nil.
The result marks South Korea’s ninth consecutive qualification for the World Cup,… after a nail-biting end to the Asian qualifying round.
While Iran had already cemented its place in the finals, South Korea had to hold onto second place in Group A, where it was only two points above Syria and Uzbekistan.
And with Syria’s failure to beat Iran, the scoreless draw was enough for South Korea to qualify with 15 points from ten games.
Although the qualifying campaign wasn’t as pretty or easy as many fans had hoped… head coach Shin Tae-yong vowed to show South Korea’s footballing prowess at the World Cup.
South Korea will join Brazil, Belgium, Japan and 28 other countries in Russia next summer.
