Argentina has had a similar run to Italy’s 2006 World Cup run, facing Australia in the Round of 16, before going on to face the WC runner ups in the semi-finals. Italy faced Germany in 2006, while Argentina played Croatia. Italy went into the final and beat France on penalties, and Argentina will be playing France as well. If Argentina were to beat France, it would be a very similar story. However after winning the World Cup in 2018, France want to make history and become the 3rd team in WC history to win consecutive world cups.
