What about the 1990 World Cup quarter-final against Yugoslavia in Italy?
– I haven’t forgotten it. I admire your style of football and that particular game was an incredible one. I was upset when Ivkovic saved my penalty, but luckily we went through to the semis. From that generation of Yugoslavian players I remember Dragan “Piksi” Stojkovic and I often ask how he and Dejan are doing.
Piksi was an incredible footballer — moved across the park with such ease — it was like dancing with the most beautiful girl. He was a true star.
